To make the most of SMSU’s technology resources, it is important to understand the difference between StarID and Tech ID (Mustang ID):

• Tech ID (Mustang ID): This is your eight-digit Student ID number found on your Mustang Card ID. It is used to identify you within the student record system. Example: 12345678
• StarID: Your StarID is a username and password combination that provides access to SMSU’s computing network, technology resources, and course-related services, including email, D2L, and E-services. Example: ab1234cd
