CARE Team Procedures
- CARE Team is notified about student concern
- Team members will gather relevant information
- CARE chair may call an emergency meeting or wait until regularly scheduled meeting to discuss student concern
- Situation specific individuals may be called in to provide expertise as needed
- Team will discuss concern, weigh all information, and decide what course of intervention/action can occur
- CARE team will make a recommendation to SMSU administration members
- This recommendation is based on what the team feels will be appropriate actions and outcomes for the student.
- Administration has final decision making authority.
- Person(s) reporting may be asked to part of the process of getting student connected with appropriate resources
CARE Team will work to notify person(s) reporting student concerns within limits of applicable state and federal laws. This may include full disclosure or very little disclosure at all depending on student situation, referrals, and intervention strategies
